The Best Undergarment Essentials for the Perfect Prom Night
There are so many fun details leading up to Prom. While picking out the perfect dress and sparkly accessories is important, the foundations you wear underneath the dress can make or break the entire look. Choosing the right undergarments is totally dependent on the style of dress you are wearing. Thongs will disappear completely underneath the dress, but don't offer any control through the hips. Briefs are great for a fuller skirt where the fabric doesn't cling to the booty as much. Shorts are a good option for some thigh shaping and offer modesty while spinning on the dance floor.
If you are wearing a flowy dress to prom, most panty or shapewear styles will work. The most common is a simple seamless panty like one of our TC Fine, Chantelle Soft Stretch, or Commando bottoms. Looking for more coverage? Opt for a brief or short.
Fitted dresses can be a bit trickier. You need to take into consideration the material of the dress. If the dress is a thin satin or silk, you will need an invisible edge shaper short or seamless bottom. This way your silhouette will be completely smooth! Thicker fabrics dresses are more forgiving.
Can't wear bra straps? The right style of strapless will make all of the difference. Strapless bras come in all different shapes, shades, and styles. Be sure to try the bra on with your dress to make sure it doesn't make an unwanted appearance.
If you are wearing a super low plunging neckline or sweetheart shape dress, a plunge bra tends to work best. Because the gore on a plungy bra is lower in the center, it will do a great job of pulling you in and enhancing your cleavage. If you are wearing a dress that is either one shoulder, off the shoulder, or even high neck, a classic strapless or longline bra will work great! These styles have a higher center gore and provide more coverage and support.

Sometimes a sticky bra is the best option for your dress - think backless or super low plunge front.
